FedEx 727 Lands at Merrill Field












A FedEx 727 cargo plane landed at Merrill Field in Anchorage Tuesday, Feb. 27, 2013, the largest aircraft ever to do so. Fedex donated the now retired plane to the University of Alaska Anchorage’s aviation program.

The Alaska Native/Native American Heritage Month kickoff celebration was held in the Student Union at the University of Alaska Anchorage Wedneday, Nov. 7, 2012. Native Dress Review participants presented clothing, traditional foods were served and the Kingikmiut Singers & Dancers performed as part of the event.


To Russia With Love







Author Vic Fischer signs copies of his new book “To Russia With Love, An Alaskan’s Journey” at a reception at the Consortium Library at the University of Alaska in Anchorage Tuesday, Oct. 30, 2012. The memoir follows Fischer’s life from growing up in Germany and Russia during World War II to his decades in Alaska, where he was a delegate to the Alaska Constitutional Convention, a member of the territorial and state senates and the first director of UAA’s Institute of Social and Economic Research.

Presidential Debates








Students got free hot dogs, snacks and beverages before watching the second 2012 Presidential Debate in the Student Union at the University of Alaska in Anchorage Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012. UAA Votes and Student Union and Commuter Student Services members provided free food and an open forum for discussion after the televised debates were shown.

Dixon owns Within the Wild Adventure Company with her family and has been cooking for 20 years.
